Really good news that our local hard work & pressure has helped get £400,000 extra funds for Prince of Wales Hospice over the next two years.
I’ve been working with the Hospice for some time to keep pressure on local health bosses and argue for additional funds as the local NHS grant wasn’t taking account of the growth in Prince of Wales Hospice work and it was underfunded compared to similar services. So the commitment we’ve now been given on extra funds is vital & welcome.
Families across our area know the heroic work the Hospice does to help people at the hardest times in their lives.
Much of the support for Prince of Wales still comes from local fundraising led by Sharon Batty and we also need to keep that going. But the strength of local support just how much Prince of Wales hospice is valued round here.
