Armed Forces Day in Pontefract Park is our chance to thank all those who serve in our armed forces, all our veterans, and all their families who support them.

Wonderful to see 105 year old Godfrey Brooks from Pontefract, a hero of WWII still going strong. Thinking of Castleford’s Kirby Nodder, D-Day hero who we lost last month, and who was at his last Armed Forces Day last year. It was good to talk to all the serving officers, new young cadets, and the many veteran and community organisations & Wakefield Council supporting our armed forces in this area.

Thank you to all our armed forces and families for everything you do to keep our country safe.
